Unknown maker. Attr. to Nathaniel (3) & Rebecca Bradford Coffin style handles hand engraved and monogramed. They were married in 1798. If the spoons were a wedding present then they are ca. 1790. From the Bradford Family Collection. Collected from the Elizabeth Bradford Rusnell Estate in Taos, NM, the family was directly descended from William Bradford, the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Nathaniel (3) Bradford and his wife Debora Sampson (daughter of Debora Sampson, the first woman to fight in the Revolutionary War) married in 1798 and were prominent citizens in New York, NY and Boston, Mass.
