Perhaps a portrait by Charles Gore of his daughter, Eliza, dressed as a working girl. Gore, and Englishman who lived primarily in Sicily and Weimar, was active from 1729-1807. This portrait, an oil on canvas, depicts a young woman in working dress seated with a rather melancholy look on her face. It is signed on the lower right on the skirt of the girl and is presented in a nicely carved frame in burnished gold. Frame 28.75″ x 22.75″, image 24″ x 18″
