Marked “Sterling Theodore B. Starr” with “Bradford” in script on handle. Gadrooned edges with beaded border around script name. From the Bradford Family Collection and possibly owned by Deborah Bradford. Nathaniel (3) Bradford, Deborah’s husband, died in 1830 and Theodore B. Starr began selling flatware in 1837. Collected from the Elizabeth Bradford Rusnell Estate in Taos, NM, the family was directly descended from William Bradford, the first Governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Nathaniel (3) Bradford and his wife Debora Sampson (daughter of Debora Sampson, the first woman to fight in the Revolutionary War) married in 1798 and were prominent citizens in New York, NY and Boston, Mass. 448 gr. 7″ Please see pictures for condition details as the photos are considered part of the description.
